Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - спинн-офф серии Metal Gear, вышедший в 2013-ом году. Разрабатывалась Platinum Game по лицензии Kojima Productions. Игра в жанре слэшер повествует об одном из персонажей серии - Райдене.

Сюжет

R-00: Guard Duty

Сюжет начинается с министра африканской страны, из своего лимузина смотрящего на красоты своего государства. Экономика на подъёме, некогда нищие земли местных аборигенов застроены большими городами. А с министром едет и его телохранитель - Райден. Солдат и философ, который считает, что ради предотвращения насилия порой приходится прибегать к самоличному насилию. И выглядящий поначалу как обычный молодой мужчина в деловом костюме.

Ничего не предвещало беды, но беда внезапно пришла. Некий киборг-самурай встаёт на пути, атакует лимузин и сопровождающую охрану. А на город нападает армия вражеских солдат. Когда вокруг снова началась война, Райден выходит из лимузина и обнажает кибернетическое тело, скрытое за цивилизованной одеждой. Герой, защитник слабых и спаситель достаёт свой меч, которому пора проявить себя в бою.

Самого министра похищает Сандаунер - огромный мускулистый здоровяк с замашками карикатурного злодея. При виде спешащего Райдена великан сам же и выкладывает свою мотивацию.

«	Сандаунер: Так ты Джек. Райден: Что ты собрался делать с премьер-министром? С: Я хочу, чтобы он... умер. Ничего личного, конечно же. Просто Африка стала слишком мирной. Р: Что? С: Наш бизнес сильно изменился с тех пор, как отключили СП. "Построим экономику без войны". Хах. Но кому-то же нравилась такая экономика! Как теперь жить честному разжигателю войны? Р: Таков твой ответ? С: *Смеётся*	»

Сандаунер намекает: министр пока что нужен ему. Пока что. И призывает Метал Гира, чтобы тот уничтожил Райдена. Начинается бой между маленьким киборгом-самураем и большим мега-роботом на ногах. В неравном бою механический зверь высотой в здание гораздо сильнее и опаснее одного человека, даже оснащённого имплантами по последнему слову техники.
